SPEEDWAY 1 ARENA-ESSEX have been forced into yet another team change with Lukasz Romanek replacing fellow Pole Piotr Swiderski. The signing of Swiderski collapsed due to circumstances beyond the club''s control and boss Ronnie Russell moved quickly to snap up Romanek. He said: ''I am disappointed that Piotr is unable to join us as originally planned but I believe that Lukasz will be able to do a good job for us.'' SPEEDWAY 2 KENNETH Bjerre has handed Belle Vue a big boost by declaring himself fit to start the season. Bjerre came through his first practice session since breaking his thigh last August with the Danish squad on Monday. He will be with Belle Vue on Wednesday for more practice. Aces boss Ian Thomas said: ''Kenneth told me his first session back on a bike had gone perfectly which was great news and a relief for everyone.'' SPEEDWAY 3 BERWICK have confirmed the return of Mikal Makovsky for a sixth successive season - and immediately installed him as skipper. Makovsky, 29, becomes the fifth signing for the Bandits after their late declaration of Premier League entry. Boss Peter Waite said: ''Mikal stands out in terms of motivational skills and he is the perfect man to lead the side into action. We''re looking forward to the start of the season.''
