The first round of the AMA National Enduro began on a difficult note as the race was cut from three full laps down to two laps because of four inches of snow that had fallen and covered the entire Enduro course.

Mike Lafferty got out to a strong start and had an epic battle ensue with fellow KTM rider, Patrick Garrahan. Both riders checked in with the low score of 16 by the checkered flag, but Garrahan was awarded the win because he clocked in with a faster lap time.
