WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
15 August 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

WOLVERHAMPTON look to get their Elite League campaign back on track when they face Arena Essex at Monmore on Monday (7.45pm).

The Black Country side slipped to defeat at Peterborough in their last outing and they need to bounce back to bolster their hopes of finishing second in the regular league standings. That would mean a home draw in the play-offs to decide the league champions. Arena include Britain''s last world champion, Mark Loram, who had a brief spell with Wolves in 1998 and remains one of the most spectacular riders in the sport. Joash Larsen and Leigh Lanham provide a powerful reserve partnership but Wolves have named in-form Workimgton youngster Simon Stead in that position where he will partner Adam Skornicki. Mikael Max returns from injury and his fellow Swede, Freddie Lindgren, is enjoying a good run of form. He said: ''It''s been a bit up and down overall. I hope I can do a little bit better, but it''s not been too bad. ''Every meeting in the Elite League is hard and Arena Essex will be no different, especially with someone like Mark Loram in their team.''
WOLVERHAMPTON: Mikael Max, Daniel Nermark R/R, Freddie Lindgren, Sam Ermolenko, David Howe, Adam Skornicki, Simon Stead. ARENA ESSEX: Mark Loram, Greg Walasak R/R, Dean Barker, Guest TBC for Kelvin Tatum, Paul Hurry, Josh Larsen, Leigh Lanham.
