ANOTHER PODIUM FOR ALBERT CABESTANY AND SHERCO
22 February 2006 - Sherco
The eight round of the Indoor Trials Championship of the World was held for the first time on this Balearic Island.
The Sherco rider again turned in a good performance and reached the podium for the second week in a row. The qualification round turned out to be very close with the first three riders separated by only three points. The section difficulty varied in that some of them were nearly impossible while some of them were very easy, this made the event very challenging, because a single dab could leave you out of the final. In the end Raga, Albert and Dougie Lampkin were the three riders to compete in the final. Dougie made some early mistakes which took him out of contention. Albert committed an unexpected error in section 6 which relegated him to second place. The Sherco rider was however able to increase his lead over the current third place rider, Tony Bou, who did not make it to the final. Albert Cabestany: ''It feels very bad to lose a victory by so little margin, but today I committed a small error that kept me from winning first place. One very good thing about today is that the motorcycle and the team functioned perfectly. We will continue to fight for the victory in the remaining rounds of the Championship''. G.P.
