12 February 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SPEEDWAY 1

COVENTRY co-promoter Colin Pratt accepts that the Bees have a tough start to the season as they look to defend the Elite League Championship.
The Brandon club face home and away fixtures against newcomers Reading and title favourites Poole before the end of March.
Pratt said: ''It''s going to be a hard start but hopefully we''ll be able to show we can give everyone a run for their money again.''

SPEEDWAY 2

NEW Workington signing Ritchie Hawkins says the presence of Graham Drury as promoter was a big influence in his decision to join the Comets.
Hawkins previously rode for Drury at Mildenhall and was a popular member of the Somerset team last year.
He said: ''I wanted to work with Graham again because he keeps me focussed, and he will keep my mind on the job without doubt.''
