Shawn Clark wins AMA Arenacross Lites win
It was high drama at the historical Denver Coliseum. Brock Sellards and Chad Johnson rolled in to the mile high city tied in point for the final weekend of Toyota Arenacross. Team Faith’s Kevin Johnson got off to a great start by winning the $500 Weekend Warrior Hole Shot award and leading ever lap on his way to victory. It was the battle for the second, third and forth position that kept the Colorado crowd on the edge of their seats. Brock Sellards started third behind teammate Jeff Northorp but soon made the pass to follow Kevin Johnson for nearly 18 laps. It was then that Sellards had a chance to make a pass on the leader. In the Toyota Hairpin when Sellards put a wheel inside of Kevin Johnson but back off. On the next lap both Sellards and Chad Johnson got together causing Sellard to blow the turn and ultimately finishing 5th. Chad Johnson would coast to a 2nd and gained 5 valuable points with on race to go. The winner will receive a share of $100,000 and a new Toyota truck. The Denver area provided the Toyota Arenacross Lites class with some impressive talent. Grand Junction’s Mitch Carroll got the hole shot and led for sometime until Arenacross regular Shawn Clark made the pass to win the Lites main event. Lakewood Colorado’s Bobby Fitch finished third.
