SPEEDWAY 1 BELLE Vue boss Ian Thomas has every confidence that Danish star Kenneth Bjerre will be fully recovered from his broken thigh in time for the new season. Thomas has kept in regular touch with Bjerre since the August accident in a Danish play-off fixture. He said: ''The hospital don''t want to see Kenneth any more, and he has no doubt that he will be ready to ride when the time comes.'' SPEEDWAY 2 TELFORD co-promoter Graham Drury believes that Sunday''s British Open Ice Speedway Championship is one of the most open in the event''s history. Five previous winners will be in action, including defending Champion Kristian Lund as Telford celebrates its twentieth anniversary and 21st birthday. Drury said: ''There is more experience in this year''s line-up than ever before, and they all want to impress. We have never had five British Open Champions before.''
