WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY Fixtures out now WOLVERHAMPTON promoter Chris Van Straaten believes the new Elite League fixture list is more exciting than ever. The Monmore men open their bid for a place in the all-omportant play-offs with a trip to Swindon on March 23 with the return at Monmore the following Monday, March 27. Van Straaten said: ''I must admit I wasn''t a fan of the new points limit when it was introduced at the AGM, but looking down the team line-ups for the new season I believe we have a very exciting product. ''I believe the league is more attractive than ever, every team coming to Monmore Green should be competitive and therefore we should have a good show to look forward to. ''Take Swindon for example. They open our home league programme and it''s been very interesting to see how they''ve put their team together this winter. ''Their spearhead of Leigh Adams and Lee Richardson will relish the prospect of facing Peter Karlsson, Freddie Lindgren and Billy Hamill. ''We have Oxford in the Knockout Cup which means we face the legendary Tony Rickardsson and our own assets, David Howe and Adam Skornicki. ''And we''re please to open the season with Poole on March 20, they will again be many people''s tips for the league title.''
