SPEEDWAY 1 POOLE will stage the prestigious Elite League Riders'' Championship earlier than ever. The event is normally an end of season showpiece but this year it will be on April 16, Easter Sunday, at 5pm. British Speedway management committee member Chris Van Straaten said: ''This date has been successful for the Pairs event and it will ensure a 100 per cent turnout of the top riders.'' The qualifiers will be the top rider from the 11 top flight clubs on the starting averages, plus the next five highest riders from the list. *FULL ELITE LEAGUE fixture list is available now at www.british-speedway.co.uk SPEEDWAY 2 PREMIER League newcomers Redcar have signed talented Czech Republic youngster Tomas Suchanek. Suchanek went agonisingly close to winning the world under-21 title last season, missing out on the toss of a coin to former Poole colleague Krzysztof Kasprzak. Bears co-promoter Gareth Rogers said: ''But for that controversial coin toss, we could have had two world champions in our team with Gary Havelock having won the senior crown in 1992.''
