Sport and utility use growing in Europe

In 2006, Bridgestone ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) tyres will be available in Europe for the first time. Three categories will be imported from the USA – dirt, soft and mud – in 8 sizes for 8” to 12” rims.

All terrain vehicles, either rear-axle powered or 4-wheel driven, is big business in the USA, with tyre demand approaching 6 million units a year. Bridgestone is building market share and has important OE fitments with brand leader Honda. In Europe, they can be seen in suburban and rural areas, and their popularity is growing. Bridgestone has identified two main areas of usage: Sports, where young and old have fun throwing their quad machines around, and Recreation/Utility, where the ATV has replaced horse power and bigger 4 x 4 vehicles in rural, farm and large garden applications.

With the new Bridgestone range, riders can attack any terrain without worry:
rough road, dirt tracks, soft terrain, mud and wet, even snow. And these ATV tyres are made from the already proven Cut Resistant Compound (CRC), so they have very high resistance to cuts and punctures from ground debris.

The new Bridgestone ATV line up features:
· Dirt Hooks (DH 17 front, DH 14 rear) for dirt, hard-packed applications;
· Mud Hooks (MH 01 front, MH 02 rear) for soft and intermediate use;
· Mud Hooks XXtreme, new on the market (MH 11 front, MH 10 rear) with an extra aggressive tread for very muddy applications.
