WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
12 July 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

PARRYS International Wolves were defeated 54-41 at Peterborough on Wednesday night in a meeting which was always likely to be an uphill battle without star man Mikael Max.

Guest Andy Smith tried hard but Wolves found themselves 16 points down after just seven heats as the home side dominated procedings in the early stages. The second half of the meeting was much better as Wolves kept the Panthers in check, and Sam Ermolenko took splendid wins in the last two heats - once as a tactical ride in Heat 14 - as Wolves reduced the deficit. Ermolenko''s best support came from young Swede Fredrik Lindgren who was involved in plenty of good racing, including an on-the-line verdict over Henning Bager in a brilliant finish to Heat 12.
PETERBOROUGH: Lee Richardson 14, Gary Havelock 10+2, Lukas Dryml 9+1, Henning Bager 8, Ales Dryml 6+1, Norbert Magosi 4+1, Ricky Ashworth 3+2.
WOLVES: Sam Ermolenko 13, Fredrik Lindgren 10+1, Adam Skornicki 6+1, Andy Smith 5, David Howe 4, Chris Neath 3, rider replacement for Daniel Nermark.
