TRIUMPH READY FOR TOP THREE FINISH
13 August 2004 - Triumph ValMoto

This weekend [13-15 August] heralds an exciting phase in the British Supersport calendar with the addition of a new circuit. The series has its inaugural visit to the North Yorkshire circuit of Croft.

The first ever Supersport race at the track is set to be another exciting, nail-biting encounter in the ultra-competitive 2004 championship and Triumph ValMoto rider Craig Jones is aiming to be at the front of the pack.

After a successful testing session at Croft last week, the talented 19-year-old is confident about his chances of achieving a top three finish, just like he did at the opening round at Silverstone.

With just four of the 13 rounds remaining, Jones is ready to again prove his skills as a Supersport rider and demonstrate the race-winning potential of the Triumph Valmoto Daytona 600.

Team Manager Jack Valentine said: “Testing at Croft last week went really well. Craig was as fast as any of the other competitors out there and we got a lot of work done to the bike, which helped Craig to go faster than he ever has done before at that circuit.

“The team has had a couple of weeks to relax since the last race and now we’re ready to rock and roll. We go to every round with the aim of achieving a podium finish and Croft is no different. We’ve worked hard all year, so it’s hopefully time to reap the rewards for that.”

Craig Jones said: “I am looking forward to racing again, especially now that we have done some work on the bike. I seem to go pretty well at Croft and I don’t see why things should be any different on Sunday.”
