BOS EXHAUSTS GO UP IN THE WORLD
30 January 2006 - Bos Exhausts

BOS GP-1 High Mount Silencers for GSX-R1000K5

The distinctively shaped GP-1 sport silencer from Dutch exhaust specialists BOS offers riders a road legal way to improve the looks and performance of their machines and is now available with a high mount race bracket. Slip-on models of the GP-1, such as this, feature a new conical shaped adapter piece that connects to the BOS adapter pipe for a tidy and simple fit. BOS has a well-earned reputation for attention to detail and this shows in the high quality finish; the tail pipes are specially TIG welded and all the fittings are made of stainless steel, which is highly polished by hand.

BOS have been innovators in the field of motorcycle exhausts for 3 decades but until now most of the clever design work has been on the inside. Noise levels are restricted thanks to the ''dB eater'' welded into the exhaust pipe. Since BOS exhausts are specifically designed for different makes and models of motorcycle, owners can expect a modest power increase, (approx. 5 bhp for the Suzuki GSX-R1000K5), without the need for re-jetting (or re-mapping for fuel-injected bikes) and the power curve should also be smoothed out.

The high mount system for the popular Suzuki GSXR1000-K5 weighs 3.5 kg (20% lighter than the 4.5 kg stock item) and is supplied with a high level bracket that attaches to the pillion footrest mounts. This is manufactured from T6 aluminium in conjunction with the highly respected frame builder Nico Bakker from Bakker Frames.

The BOS GP-1 High Mount silencer for the Suzuki GSXR1000-K5 is a slip-on pattern that retails for £350 in stainless steel (£425 in carbon).
