TRIPLE WHAMMY
02 February 2006 - Skidmarx

Skidmarx bodywork from Triumph Speed Triple 1050

Skidmarx, the British bodywork specialists, have created a range of bolt-on accessories for the distinctive Triumph Speed Triple. With its brand new 1050cc, three-cylinder, fuel-injected engine, rigid aluminium frame and individual twin headlight style, the Speed Triple has been an instant hit with British bikers and one of the best selling ''naked'' bikes in 2005. There are three core accessories for the Speed Triple - a cockpit fairing, belly pan and hugger - all available in carbon fibre or hand laid GRP (''glass fibre'') options.

At the front the RR2 Cockpit Fairing is sculpted to follow the lines of the machine and is supplied with stainless steel fittings and ''mini bubble'' screen at £145 in carbon (£95 in black GRP).

In the middle there is a neat Belly Pan to protect the 1050cc power plant from road grime. Deliberately styled to follow the contours of the engine casing, this comes complete with stainless fittings and sells for £195 in carbon (£99 in black GRP).

At the back, Skidmarx offer a tailor made Hugger, which weighs under 475g. Like the Sprint ST hugger, this model incorporates an integral chain guard, is supplied with stainless steel fittings and has easy to follow instructions. For a neat finishing touch, Skidmarx have developed a retaining tube so that the rear brake hose can be routed along the hugger. The price is £125 in carbon fibre (£75 in black GRP)

Other optional extras for the Speed Triple include carbon heel guards for front and rear, priced at £47.50/pair, carbon exhaust shields at £65/pair and carbon radiator end guards at £55/pair.
