WORKINGTON have agreed a major sponsorship deal for the coming season with national insurance brokers cometinsurance.com
It is the first time since the re-launch of the sport at Derwent Park in 1999 that the Comets'' team sponsorship has come from outside the local area.
Promoter Graham Drury said: ''A speedway promotion can sometimes sink or swim based on their commercial sponsorship, and this is the biggest deal we have ever done.''

STOKE have commenced work on installing their new air-fence at Loomer Road - with as many as 44 posts to erect to support the weight.
The Potters will be first club in either Premier or Conference Leagues to use an air-fence next season.
Promoter Dave Tattum said: ''The weather has held us up a bit, but if we have a good spell now we can crack on.''
