SPEEDWAY 1

GARY Havelock will become the first former World Champion to race in the Premier League having agreed a deal to join newcomers Redcar.
Havelock returns to the North-East after starting his career as a 16-year-old at nearby Middlesbrough.
He said: ''I felt that coming home after all those years on the road was the right thing to do, and I am thrilled to be a Bear again.''

SPEEDWAY 2

NEWPORT promoter Tim Stone says he has bolstered the club''s lower-order strength with the signing of Joel Parsons.
The Australian youngster, who rode for Hull last season, has recovered from a badly broken leg sustained at Mildenhall.
Stone said: ''We''re not only looking to dominate Heat 2 at Newport, we''re looking to get heat advantages away in Heat 2 and Joel is really up to the task.''
