SPEEDWAY 1 SOMERSET are just one rider short of completing their line-up for the new season after signing Simon Walker at reserve. Walker, who rode for the club at the end of last year, will partner Ben Barker at reserve. He said: ''Coming in at the end of last season made it difficult to pick up the pace, but I''ll be ready for the start of the new season in March.'' SPEEDWAY 2 WOLVERHAMPTON promoter Chris Van Straaten is planning to head north to finalise his team plans. The Monmore chief will travel to Sheffield with a contract for youngster Ben Wilson to double-up alongside Edinburgh''s William Lawson. He said: ''Both William and Ben are very enthusiastic about joining the club and I expect everything to be finalised when I meet them both with their contracts in the near future.''
