MANAGEMENT CHANGES AT MZ MOTORRAD- UND ZWEIRADWERK GMBH
Mr. R. Vasuthewan (“Vasu”), currently Managing Director of the German motorcycle producer MZ Motorrad- und Zweiradwerk GmbH and its development partner MZ Engineering GmbH will be relinquishing both positions at the end of his current contract withHong Leong Industries. Following his official retirement in January 2002, Vasu’s contract was twice extended and will come to an end on 25th January 2006. Mr. Yap Peng Leong (Steve Yap) will take over as Managing Director of MZ Motorrad- und Zweiradwerk GmbH. MZ Engineering GmbH, headed by Mr. Jürgen Meusel, will be reporting directly to the Group Managing Director of MZ Motorrad Group Ltd. Mr. Yap (51), brings with him considerable experience gained from serving in Hong Leong over 19 years in various capacities. His last position before his secondment to MZ Motorrad- und Zweiradwerk GmbH in Zschopau was Managing Director of Hume Cemboard, a public listed company within the Hong Leong Group. MZ also takes the opportunity to announce the appointment of Mr. Ron van Wely as Sales and Marketing Manager. Mr. van Wely who has been with MZ since 1996, was previously the Sales Administration Manager. With these changes, MZ Motorrad- und Zweiradwerk GmbH will continue its plans to build up the MZ brand further.
