WORCS SERIES USA: 1ST ROUND PHOENIX, AZ
18 January 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG
Round one of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) kicked off in Phoenix, Arizona this past weekend and KTM rider Kurt Caselli was on the gas at the Speedworld track.
As the riders lined up on the gate, Kurt Caselli was poised and ready. The Palmdale resident blasted off the line and was in the top three going into the first turn. In a cloud of chaos and dust, Caselli made his first pass and jockeyed into second position. During the course of the two-hour race, Caselli was running at a strong pace on the dry and dusty course, but made small mistakes that cost precious seconds. An hour into the race, Caselli made his pit stop and was twenty-nine seconds behind the leader. After a quick refuel, Caselli began to hack into the leaders’ lap times, clocking the fastest times of the day. Unfortunately, Caselli stalled his bike and lost three positions, putting him back to fifth. With four laps left, he made a strong charge and moved his way back into second where he finished his race. WORCS Pro Motorcycle Results (Top 3) 1. Ryan Hughes SUZ 30 2. Kurt Caselli KTM 25 3.
