2006 WORLD INDOOR TRIALS CHAMPIONSHIP
15 January 2006 - Sherco
Albert Cabestany gains the podium in the second round of the World Indoor Championship
After failing to make the final in the first round of the indoor championship, the Sherco rider returned to the podium in Marseilles with his third place finish. Albert Cabestany was in second place at the end of the first lap, in spite of an unexpected ''five'' in the first section. This finish demonstrates that the Sherco rider is in excellent form. In the final when he was competing against Fajardo and Raga, Albert was the initial leader; however a ''two'' in the seventh section and two time penalty points kept the Sherco rider from his first victory of 2006. Albert Cabestany: ''I have to be satisfied with this result, especially after the poor result of Sheffield, to return to the podium is always a joy. The victory tonight was very close, but the important thing is that I demonstrated that I am riding at the same level as the best riders in the world.'' G.P.
