RAMSEY WINS PHOENIX! AMA SX SERIES: 2ND ROUND
17 January 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG

At the Ball Park One stadium in Phoenix, AZ the second Supercross of the 2006 season kicked off and Nathan Ramsey and Mike Alessi were determined to have a successful race and both came out swinging and ready.

In the six-lap heat race, both Red Bull KTM Supercross Lites riders blasted off the split-start and shoved their way into the top ten. Nathan Ramsey looked calm and poised as he steadily climbed into second place while teamate Mike Alessi was seventh to see both ridersmake it to the main.

The Red Bull KTM athletes were staged in the starting gates for the Main event and as the 30 second sign dropped, the orange riders jumped out in front; Alessi in third and Ramsey in sixth. Determination and heart saw Ramsey pick off riders and move into the lead by the end of the second lap. Alessi crashed on the third lap and picked his bike up in tenth postion, where he stayed for the remainder of the race. An intense battle broke out between Ramsey an another rider, but Ramsey was the stronger of the two and soon checked out for the overall win.

KTM Junior Supercross Challenge Results

The Phoenix Supercross turned out to be another great race for the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge participants. All fifteen riders, representing seven different states, had the chance of a lifetime to live the day in the life of a pro rider and race in front of the sold out Phoenix crowd. The main event went very well for two of the Arizona natives Mark Worth and Thunder Ralston. Worth took off with the holeshot and led the entire race while Ralston held strong for second and Jared Conley finished off the podium in third hailing all the way from Lowell, IN. Patrick Evans and Willy Simons Jr. rounded out the top five.
