WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY: NEW SKIPPER ANNOUNCED
11 January 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

PETER Karlsson is to be appointed the new captain of Wolverhampton for the 2006 season.

Karlsson, who was joint skipper of the 2002 title winning team, is returning to Monmore Green after a season on loan at Peterborough.

Team manager Peter Adams said: ''Peter captained us before and you can''t pass over someone like him. I am sure he will do it with aplomb.

''Speedway team management is a two-man job - you need someone like me and you need a good captain.
''I''ve never ridden a motorbike - you need somebody who can translate your ideas into terms that the riders can understand.''
