WOLVERHAMPTON resume their Elite League programme with a tricky test against Belle Vue at Monmore Green on Monday (7.30pm).
The Monmore men still have high hopes of finishing second in the regular league standings which would be enough for a home draw in the play-offs. World championship leader Jason Crump leads the Aces challenge along with newly crowned British champion Joe Screen and Danish sensation Kenneth Bjerre. The Manchester outfit are well behind with their fixtures and they still have an outside chance of making the top five. Their chances were boosted with a fine away win over Coventry recently. Team manager Peter Adams said: ''We cannot take this for granted, even though the league table suggests were are the favourites because we''re well ahead. ''But, on their day, Belle Vue can be a very strong team and we need to be on our guard because they have a number of world class riders. ''I expect a tough meeting and we will need to be in form right from the first race. We need to win by as many points as possible to give us hope for the aggregate bonus point.'' Fredrik Lindgren has been rewarded for his successful return to British racing with a place in the top five for Wolves and, after a slump in scores, youngster Chris Neath heads in the opposite direction to reserve. WOLVES: Mikael Max, Daniel Nermark R/R, Frederik Lindgren, Sam Ermolenko, David Howe, Chris Neath, Adam Skornicki, Eric Carrillo. BELLE VUE: Kenneth Bjerre, Rory Schlein, Kaj Laukkanen, Joe Screen, Jason Crump, Jan Jaros, Brent Werner.
