GLASGOW have ended a five year chase for Kauko Nieminen by signing the Finnish star on loan from Workington.

The Tigers first expressed interest in the rider in early 2001 but Nieminen has been with the Comets throughout his British career so far.

Tigers co-promoter Gordon Pairman said: ''Kauko is a very talented rider and he will form a key part of our side.''

BERWICK are set for major team changes next season - assuming their Premier League future is successfully resolved.

Several of the 2005 Bandits are now fixed up elsewhere as promoter Peter Waite seeks to put the finances for the season in place.

Club official Dennis McCleary said: ''There are plenty of top quality riders available, and we could have five or six new faces in any 2006 team.''
