With James Wright already signed, Comets boss Graham Drury intends for Stead to complete a strong heat-leader trio along with Carl Stonehewer. Drury said: ''We''re absolutely delighted to have signed a rider of such high quality, and I believe we have made a great start to our team building with Garry and James.'' SPEEDWAY 3 NEWCASTLE have signed Austrian rider Manuel Hauzinger - and believe he can improve substantially on his 3.14 average. Hauzinger started last season with the Isle of Wight but returned home at the end of May for treatment on a back injury. Diamonds promoter Darryl Illingworth said: ''The Islanders gave us a good report about Manuel''s ability and we certainly think he is on a false average at the moment.''
