BRITISH SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 9.8.04
09 August 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
RONNIE Correy is ready to make a shock comeback with his former club Belle Vue - four years after quitting through injury.
The American has joined the Aces on a short term basis on loan from Wolverhampton. Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''The idea of a comeback was completely down to Ronnie, without any pressure from us. We couldn''t accommodate him so we made him available.'' HULL skipper Paul Thorp secured an important aggregate bonus point for the league leaders with a win over Andre Compton in a run-off after a fabulous meeting at Sheffield. He said: ''Getting excluded in Heat 15 wound me up to win the run-off, and I didn''t want Compton to beat me again. ''It was great to see the faces of the rest of the team when I won.'' CARMARTHEN favourite Dean Felton insists he has no plans to quit the sport - despite starting his own courier business. The Black Country based rider is enjoying his racing as much as ever and has pledged his immediate future to the Dragons. He said: ''I do speedway for fun and I love it down at Carmarthen, they are a smashing bunch of people and they always make me feel welcome.''
