SPEEDWAY 1

IPSWICH have completed a new deal to keep Piotr ''Pepe'' Protasiewicz at Foxhall Stadium next season.

The Polish Grand Prix star had been in talks with Oxford but has now decided to stay with the Witches.

Ipswich skipper Chris Louis said: ''We have spoken at great length about the new season and Piotr is keener than ever for the season ahead. He''s determined to reach the top.''

SPEEDWAY 2

CARL Wilkinson has earnt a recall from parent club Newport after a successful spell on loan at Berwick last season.

Wilkinson raised his average with the Bandits and headed the list of bonus point scorers at Premier League level.

Wasps promoter Tim Stone said: ''Carl still has his aggression but he has become a more polished rider so we are all delighted to have him back.''
