SPEEDWAY 1 SIMON Stead has agreed a new deal to stay with Elite League runners-up Belle Vue for a second successive season. The Wolverhampton asset joins new signing George Stancl and Josef Franc at Brough Park after agreeing a new deal with the club. He said: ''The Diamonds have totally revived my career - I''ve made so many new friends at Brough Park that it would be hard to imagine riding there for a visiting team next season.'' SPEEDWAY 3 ANDRE Compton is the new captain of Sheffield - after penning a two-year deal. Compton takes over from Sean Wilson to spearhead the Owlerton club''s challenge for the 2006 Premier League title. He said: ''From a personal point of view I have to be happy with a two year deal and the fact that I am to be the new captain means I have extra responsibility.''
