GAMMA BIKE PRODUCTION UNDERWAY AT NORTON
07 June 2004 - Norton Motorsports inc.
Norton has begun the final stage of development towards the production of the new 952 Commando SE; Gamma production is underway.
“We’ve been following a development process that began with the completion of the first Alpha bike that displayed at the CycleWorld International Motorcycle shows and toured the US last year, stated Norton’s Director of Design and Development Paul Gaudio. This was followed by two Beta bikes completed in April” Mr. Gaudio continued, “These Gamma bikes are a continuation of that process and are the final prototype bikes we’ll build prior to the commencement of production in the first quarter of 2005.” The first three of these Gamma bikes will be on display at this year’s International Superbike Classic at Laguna Seca in July. The remaining bikes will be built over the course of the summer. These bikes will serve many functions that range from performance and EPA testing to assembly analysis to placement in Hollywood movies. Norton President Kenny Dreer remarked, “The Norton brand is one of the greatest marques in motorcycling with its rich racing heritage and British roots. These Gamma bikes demonstrate our on-going commitment to the revival of the Norton brand.” Dreer went on to say, “Our constant and tireless efforts continue to demonstrate our capabilities and allow me the daily joy of proving our detractors wrong. I couldn’t be happier with our progress.”
