Battling unpredictable conditions and freezing temperatures over the next few months will be a regular occurrence for year-round riders.

However, BMW Motorrad believes that there is no such thing as bad weather – only the wrong motorcycle clothing.

Fortunately, many of the items in the company’s latest Rider Equipment collection are designed specifically for motorcyclists craving instant warmth and comfort while out on the road. BMW AirVantage Waistcoat
A simple concept that makes perfect sense. This wind and waterproof waistcoat is made of GORE-TEX® laminate and keeps a rider warm by surrounding them with a layer of hot air – provided at no cost and without any electrical connections. By literally blowing hot breath directly into the waistcoat’s thermal insulation valve and inflating the jacket’s padding, the AirVantage helps keep riders comfortable – and therefore alert. A desired temperature can always be maintained by simply adding or releasing hot air from the valve.

BMW Phase Change jacket
This jacket is capable of storing large amounts of body heat energy before releasing it in gradual stages as the body temperature falls. This is all credit to the use of high-tech Schoeller®-PCM™ material that has been developed in space research laboratories and has a fantastic ability to balance temperature fluctuations. The BMW Phase Change Functional Jacket is designed for use under motorcycle clothing but is an ideal garment for all kinds of outdoor activities such as sports or hiking.
