Screamin’ Eagle Fat Boy Raises £75,000 at Red Cross Ball
Last week’s Red Cross Ball saw a special custom Harley-Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle, worth £20,000, sold at the charity’s auction for a colossal £75,000! The bidding for the limited edition motorcycle, one of only 50 in the UK, was heated, but the winning offer came from Walid Juffali, who put forward the very generous sum of £75,000 for the legendary Fat Boy; first made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Footballing legend and long-time Harley-Davidson rider Ian Wright went along to the ball with Paul Stephenson of the Magic Group’s Thames Valley Harley-Davidson dealership; where the Magic Group supplied the Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) FLSTFSE Screamin’ Eagle Fat Boy to the charity auction. Paul Stephenson said: “This was a great result for the Red Cross Ball, and we’re happy that our lot got so much attention from the bidders. This is a very rare motorcycle so we hoped it would do well for the Red Cross, and we weren’t disappointed! “It was great to have Ian with us to help drum up support on the Harley-Davidson lot also; he’s a keen Harley rider and a great ambassador for two wheels.” The Ball, held at the ‘Room by the River’ in London, was titled “H2O The Element of Life”, and attracted stars from far and wide to bid on some spectacular lots. Guests who attended the event included British Red Cross Vice Presidents Angela Rippon and Anthony Andrews, along with Michael Buerk, Dr David Bull, Konnie Huq, Ian Wright, Flavio Briatore, Tamara Beckwith, Caprice, Rebecca Loos, Tamara Mellon, Sian Lloyd, Christina Estrada, Isabella Christensen, Ozwald Boateng and Walid Juffali. The Magic Group has been a great supporter of the Red Cross Ball in past years, including making a record-breaking £450,000 on four Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycles for the Red Cross in 2003. The Magic Group of companies owns four Harley-Davidson dealerships nation-wide.
