BRITISH Speedway chairman Pete Toogood has hailed a ''successful and constructive'' AGM after the sport''s promoters met in Tenerife.

The major decisions were the 40-point team limit imposed in the Elite League following Reading''s promotion, and the introduction of play-offs to decide the Premier League.

Toogood said: ''It''s good to see another team elevated to the Elite League, and that Mildenhall have been elevated to the Premier League.''

SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter has given the thumbs up to the new 40-point for Elite League team building.

Rossiter insists he has a good idea of the team he wants for next year.

He said: ''I am pleased and positive with how things went and the 40-point limit works in well with my team plans. If everything falls into place we will be tracking a very competitive side.''
