Kiddimoto: Winner of the Bronze Medal – Right Start Best Toy Award 2005
Catch ‘em young! That’s the idea behind Kiddimoto, a motorcycle style trainer bike that introduces toddlers to the joys of two wheels. Somerset biker Simon Booth made the ultimate sacrifice, selling his Ducati 748 and Husqvarna enduro to finance the project. “The idea developed when a lot of my riding mates began to have children,” he said. “I seemed to spend most of my Sunday mornings drinking coffee and watching the kids wash their trikes while dad washed his bike. I realised that they were copying, and that a bike which looked just like his would go down a storm.” That’s the Kiddimoto – simple, safe and robust, this pedal-free trainer bike is a great way of building confidence and balance through play. Designed without pedals or stabilisers, Kiddimoto allows the child to place both feet on the ground, giving them confidence to develop balance and motor skills at low speeds. Better still, it’s fun! Kiddimoto comes in two styles – Superbike and Scrambler – and a whole range of colours, including natural wood, bright yellow and racing red. The Superbike has fairing panels, a sculpted tank and tailpiece for that authentic R1 look, while the Scrambler comes with a racing plate and optional high-level pipes. Custom paint finishes are available to order, and a new Kiddimoto – the Harley-style Hog – is now under development. Handmade in Somerset from birch ply, the Kiddimoto exceeds all current safety standards. It’s lightweight and has just three moving parts – the wheels and steering – so there’s not much to go wrong. And from just £89, it won’t break the bank either. Why choose Kiddimoto? *Develops balance and motor skills through play *Promotes fitness and self-confidence *Superbike and Scrambler to choose from *Wide range of bright colours *Safe and robust – CE approved
