SHEFFIELD PIRTEK TIGERS v STOKE POTTERSPREMIER LEAGUETHURSDAY AUGUST 5 - 7.45pm
SHEFFIELD PIRTEK TIGERS put their long and proud unbeaten home league record on the line when they face a powerful Stoke side at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45pm). And co-promoter Neil Machin is demanding a big improvement from some of his team members after a slump in form in recent weeks. Machin said: ''We will need to show a vast improvement in our form from recent weeks and every member of our team will need to be on top form, both tonight and Sunday.'' Tigers asset Robbie Kessler, who thrives on the wide open Owlerton turns, is on loan to the Potters and is is expected to provide a major threat tonight. Paul Pickering also regards Sheffield as one of his favourite tracks and he has been one of the main reasons behind Stoke''s rise up to the top three of the Premier League. Jan Staechmann and Alan Mogridge have also done well at Owlerton in the past and the top four alone will stretch Tigers to the limit. Somerset''s John Jorgensen is booked as a guest for injured Tigers skipper Sean Wilson as Machin begins to run out of options for guests with the likes of Craig Watson now above Wilson in the Premier League averages. SHEFFIELD: John Jorgensen, Andrew Moore, Richard Hall, Ricky Ashworth, Andre Compton, James Birkinshaw, Ben Wilson. STOKE: Paul Pickering, Jan Staechmann, Alan Mogridge, Robbie Kessler, Rob Grant, Paul Clews, Trent Leverington.
