That’s when thousands of the world-famous motorcycles will be heading to the Kerry region from all parts of Europe for the 15th European Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) Rally, from 22-25 June, 2006.
This celebration of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the lifestyle and camaraderie that comes with them could hardly be heading for a more spectacular location – or better local hospitality. Killarney is the gateway to the famous Ring of Kerry road route, and with its three lakes, has been an inspiration for poets and artists for centuries. It also provides easy access to great riding roads on the Dingle peninsula around Dingle Bay, and through the mountains of Macgillycuddy’s Reeks.
Music is an essential part of Irish heritage, just as it is for any H.O.G. Rally, and there will be live music with a definite Irish influence day and night. The 2006 Rally will also feature demonstration rides on all the latest motorcycles, guided tours of the best local scenic riding routes and trade stands.
Nigel Villiers, Director of H.O.G., said: “Killarney has all the ingredients to make it one of the best ever European H.O.G. rallies; great roads and scenery, quality hotels and camping facilities and of course, legendary Irish hospitality. A great ‘craic’ is
guaranteed, and we would urge anyone planning to attend to book their ferry crossing and accommodation as soon as possible as demand is already extremely high.”
Up to 20,000 Harley-Davidson enthusiasts from every corner of Europe and beyond will give Killarney a party to remember. The climax of the Rally will be the traditional Sunday morning parade of thousands of motorcycles and flags. Definitely not to be missed!
