12 November 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 FORMER world champion Billy Hamill has confirmed he wants to race in the Elite League again next season. With Oxford boss Nigel Wagstaff leaving Cowley, Hamill''s future with the club is uncertain. He said: ''I intend to race in Britain again next season but whether that''s with Oxford or not remains to be seen. I don''t even think Oxford know that, I''ll just wait and see what happens.'' SPEEDWAY 2 SHEFFIELD have swooped to sign all the Hull riders left on the shelf by the closure of the East Yorkshire club. And that means Paul Thorp, Tigers'' public enemy number one, is now an asset of the Owlerton outfit along with the likes of Garry Stead. Tigers co-boss Neil Machin said: ''The assets were taken over by the British Speedway Promoters'' Association and advertised for sale. It represents a big investment.''
