SIMON Stead wants a second year at Belle Vue - to finally get to grips with the Kirkmanshulme Lane track!

The Great Britain world cup star had an impressive debut year in the Elite League after his move from Workington.

Stead said: ''Belle Vue was never one of my favourite tracks and I''m not going to let it beat me, I''d like to go back there if possible.''

SPEEDWAY 2

DEREK Sneddon is the first rider to be offered a place in Edinburgh''s team for next season.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful return after injury with the Armadale Conference team and is ready to step up a level.

He said: ''It''s fantastic, this has been my aim all along and now that it has happened obviously I''m delighted. I want to increase my average and I believe I can do that.''
