SPEEDWAY 1 DANISH team manager Jan Staechmann insists he hasn''t retired from racing. Staechmann, who crashed when riding for Stoke in March, has been told there is no nerve damage which means he can have surgery to repair a shoulder problem with a view to a possible return to the saddle next year. He said: ''I have a preliminary appointment for the end of November. I can assure everyone that I have not retired.'' SPEEDWAY 2 NEW Oxford owner Aaron Lanney has named fans'' favourites Travis McGowan and Niels Kristian Iversen as his first two targets for next season. He said: ''I would be very keen to keep Travis at Oxford. I know he is popular and he wiped the floor with the club''s awards this season. ''I would also like to keep Niels Kristian Iversen because he''s a rider I rate highly.''
