BENNETTS CROWN MOST DEDICATED BENNETTS BRITISH SUPERBIKE FAN Ellen Chambers, 18, impressed the panel of judges as the most dedicated Bennetts British Superbike Fan, with her tale of fanatical devotion to justify claiming the coveted award. From all the entries received, Ellen’s unique enthusiasm for the sport illustrated unquestionable devotion and confimed her as the country’s top Bennetts British Superbike nut! As well as running her own website dedicated to her favourite past-time, and attending almost every round of the championship in the past five years, Ellen has also baked individual fairy cakes for all her favourite riders with their name and rider number iced on in their team colour. Ellen has also made individual banners for her favourite riders to cheer them on. As part of her prize, Ellen, as the most dedicated Bennetts British Superbike fan, was invited to attend the British Superbike Awards Day at the NEC International Motorcycle Show to meet the newly crowned 2005 Bennetts British Superbike Champion Gregorio Lavilla. Gregorio presented Ellen with a bottle of champagne to celebrate her accolade, as well as a ‘golden ticket’ which entitles her, and a friend to attend every round of the Championship in 2006, courtesy of Bennetts. Thousands of bike fans have attended and followed the 2005 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, and Bennetts launched the search to find the most ‘Dedicated Fan’ as the season reached its climax urging fans to prove they were the most dedicated petrol head. Ellen said: “I would like to thank Bennetts for recognising my dedication to the British Superbike Championship. I have enjoyed many great moments following all the action this season and it has been brilliant to top it all off by receiving this award and I can’t wait to see all the 2006 race action next year thanks to Bennetts.” Kal Samra, Bennetts Director said: “The Bennetts British Superbike Championship has seen over 300,000 fans travelling the length and breadth of England, Scotland and Ireland to cheer on their favourite riders this season and they’ve helped ensure the Championship has been a great success. “Fans like Ellen are an integral part of the Championship and we are delighted with how the title sponsorship has gone in our first season. Initiatives such as this give us the chance to say thanks to the fans for their continued support of the Championship.”
