PROSPECTIVE BIRMINGHAM OWNER TONY MOLE IS CONSIDERING HIS NEXT MOVE AFTER HIS BID TO BRING SPEEDWAY BACK TO THE SECOND CITY WAS REJECTED BY A SINGLE CASTING VOTE.

The vote at Thursday''s Council meeting was split 4-4 with six absentions, but chairman Councillor David Roy had the final say.Mole said: ''It was naturally very disappointing and I must now go back to the landlords to discuss the situation.''

FORMER Sheffield star Simon Stead made a victorious return to Owlerton by lifting the Northern Classic in a dramatic finale.
Home riders Andre Compton and Sean Wilson both crashed out of the Final leaving Stead to beat Magnus Karlsson for the title.
Stead said: ''It was a high quality field in the Final and I''m absolutely delighted to come back to a place I love and win a meeting like this.''
