LAFFERTY WINS FINAL AMA HARE SCRAMBLE ROUND
19 October 2005 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG

In typical Champion-style, Mike Lafferty dominated early and checked out with a win in the last round of the 2005 AMA Hare Scramble series.

Eagleswood, NJ was rained on earlier in the week, providing perfect traction and eliminating dust for the weekend on the sandy East Coast course.

Lafferty switched gears and mounted a KTM 300 XC letting his 450 EXC rest over the weekend. It was apparent he had made the perfect choice as the multi-time Enduro Champion blasted off the start in the top three and quickly moved into first place, continually gaining distance on the rest of the pack. At the end of the first lap, he had put twenty seconds between himself and second place. By the time the checked flag dropped, Lafferty had pulled ahead of Shane Watts by nearly five minutes.

Mike said, ''It was great to have a race in my home state; I was feeling really good and the KTM 300 XC worked perfectly. It was a tough track, that''s for sure. I had a lot of great support this year, and wanted to thank KTM for all the help; I especially want to thank Alan and Melissa Randt for the countless hours they''ve dedicated to my racing.''

You can see Mike competing with his KTM Off-Road teammates at the final round of the GNCC Championship series in Crawfordsville, IN on October 23rd.
