SUZUKI POSTS MORE THAN $200,000 IN CONTINGENCY WITH AMA NATIONAL ARENACROSS SERIES
17 October 2005 - Suzuki Racing

RM/RMZ-mounted racers competing in 2005-’06 AMA National Arenacross Series win big with Suzuki’s contingency program

Clear Channel Entertainment’s Motor Sports division announced today that Suzuki, an industry leader in contingency and support programs for racers, has posted a contingency payout for the 2005-’06 AMA National Arenacross Series totaling more than $200,000 for riders competing on its RM/RMZ-brand motorcycles.

“Suzuki takes great pride in offering a generous payout to the pro and amateur racers at the national events and supporting the regional racers that help make this sport so great,” said Mel Harris, vice president, American Suzuki Motor Corp.

A win in the AMA National Arenacross Series’ AMA Arenacross class (formerly 250cc class) will earn a Suzuki-mounted racer a $1,000. Suzuki then keeps the monies coming to the AMA Arenacross class all the way through tenth place. In the Arenacross Lites class (formerly 125cc class), Suzuki’s payout structure awards $400 to win the support class while providing contingency money through fifth place.

“Suzuki and its well-known contingency program has been a part of the AMA National Arenacross Series for many years, and we’re pleased to have them back aboard with us this year in such a big way,” said Todd Jendro, senior director of operations for Clear Channel Entertainment’s Motorsports division. “We’re looking forward to seeing some of the top Suzuki RM and RMZ racers battling for the top spots in the AMA National Arenacross Series title chase.”

In addition to it highly visible pro racer payout program, Suzuki will also back the AMA National Arenacross Series’ amateur racers at both the national and regional level. A win in the 85cc 7-11 class, 125 and 250cc classes, 125 Schoolboy and Women’s class will net Suzuki racers $200 on a ‘Suzuki Card’ – with contingency being paid out through fifth place in each of the aforementioned classes. Amateur racers can spend their well-deserved earnings at authorized Suzuki dealerships

The Honda Contingency program for the 2005-‘06 AMA national Arenacross Series was announced last week, and the remaining contingency programs ($2,000,000-plus) will be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the opening round at the Pepsi Center n Albany, N.Y., October 28.
