HAGA TAKES POPULAR DOUBLE

Fans'' favourite Noriyuki Haga (Ducati) took a popular double victory at Brands Hatch to move to within six points of championship leader Regis Laconi (Ducati).

The Japanese ace won a tough race with Laconi first time out and beat Pierfrancesco Chili (Ducati) on aggregate in race two.

The top four in the championship are separated by just eight points going into the final three rounds. Laconi leads Chris Vermeulen (Honda) by two points, with Haga third and James Toseland (Ducati) a further two behind in fourth.

The next round of the championship takes place at Assen in the Netherlands on September 5.
