TECHNO- LOGICAL TRANSPORT
12 October 2005 - Peugeot
Peugeot continue to set new trends on two wheels with the introduction of the Swatch-inspired Techno limited edition Ludix scooter.
Aimed squarely at style-conscious young urban professionals, these scooters are characterized by several translucent elements: the front face, the ball of the shock absorber, the wheels, twist grips and the buttons of control units, plus colour-matched piping on the seats. Hailed as the most innovative scooter of this new century, the Ludix was developed by Peugeot to take advantage of modern materials and the latest production techniques to create an economic range of scooters. Extensive use of ABS polypropylene bodywork and external perimeter steel sub-frame makes all of the models in the Ludix range compact, light (at just 70KG, some 20KG lighter than equivalent 50cc scooters) and economic. A positive side effect of their lightness is class-leading acceleration, making the Ludix fun and confidence inspiring to ride in congested towns and cities. Within a year of its UK launch the Ludix has firmly established itself in the UK’s top 3 selling 50cc scooters and demand is showing no signs of slowing. The Ludix Techno is powered by a 50cc, ‘twist & go’ air cooled 2 stroke single cylinder engine, stopping power is provided by a 155mm diameter front disc brake. A neat feature of the Ludix modular design concept is that the body panels are interchangeable, so should the scooter suffer damage, or should its owner need a new colour-match, they can be quickly and cost-effectively replaced. The Peugeot Ludix Techno sells for £1,199- on the road, and will be available in Funky Red from October 2005. Like all Peugeot scooters, the Ludix Techno benefits from a 2-year warranty and low cost Peugeot insurance scheme.
