BRITISH SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 31.7.04
31 July 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
POOLE have completed the double swoop of Ryan Sullivan and Pepe Protasiewicz from former Peterborough bosses Jim Lynch and Ian Jarvis.
Sullivan replaced Tony Rickardsson earlier this season but Protasiewicz is not likely to feature until next season. Pitates chief Matt Ford said: ''Ryan has been a revelation and we had always been looking at signing him permanently. ''Pepe is a world class rider who is also a Wimborne Road specialist.” GREAT Britain boss Neil Middleditch reckons there will be no home track advantage in the World Cup next week. The week-long tournament features eight nations at Eastbourne and Poole starting on Monday. Middleditch said: “Nearly all of the riders competing have had experience at both Eastbourne and Poole so I feel track advantage if any is down to a minimum. It should be a wonderful tournament.” FIXTURES) SATURDAY JULY 31: PREMIER LEAGUE: Berwick v Glasgow 7pm, Stoke v Somerset 7.30, Workington v Newcastle 7pm, Hull v King’s Lynn 7.30 PREMIER LEAGUE KNOCKOUT CUP: Rye House v Isle of Wight 7pm SCOTTISH JUNIOR CUP: Armadale v Ashfield 2pm SUNDAY AUGUST 1: PREMIER LEAGUE: Glasgow v Hull 6pm, Newcastle v Berwick 5.30, Newport v Isle of Wight 4pm PREMIER TROPHY FINAL: Reading v Exeter 6.30 CONFERENCE LEAGUE: Carmarthen v Swindon 3.15, Mildenhall v Armadale 4pm, Buxton v Stoke 3pm MONDAY AUGUST 2: WORLD CUP EVENT ONE: Sweden v Great Britain v Poland v Hungary (at Eastbourne) 7.15 PREMIER TROPHY FINAL: Exeter v Reading 7.30 CONFERENCE TROPHY: Coventry v Buxton 7.45, Sheffield v Mildenhall 7.45 --- *BREAKING NEWS THROUGHOUT THE DAY AVAILABLE FROM: OFFICIAL BRITISH SPEEDWAY CLUBCALL NEWSLINE 09066 555 909 (calls cost 60p/min)
