TEST RIDE A BMW AT MCN’S 50TH BIRTHDAY PARTY
08 October 2005 - BMW Motorrad GB

The nation’s top-selling biking publication, Motor Cycle News, is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the annual MCN Live event in Skegness this weekend and BMW Motorrad UK will be there to join in the festivities.

A selection of BMW’s current model range will be available for test riding throughout the weekend, including the 167 bhp K1200 S superbike, the K1200 R naked roadster and the best-selling R1200 GS. Riders will need to show their motorcycle licence (both parts) and wear suitable motorcycle clothing to participate.

Followers of the extremely successful Long Way Round series will also have a chance to see the R1150 GS Adventure that took Charley Boorman across 15 different countries on his around-the-world trip with best friend Ewan McGregor. And fans of BMW Motorrad’s international PowerCup racing series can see one of the 175 bhp K1200 R race bikes in the metal.

Clothing and accessories from the 2005 Rider Equipment Collection will be on proud display including the ever-popular BMW Rallye 2 suit as worn by Charley Boorman, Ewan McGregor and more recently, Hollywood starlet, Angelina Jolie. Enthusiasts will also be able to pick up a copy of the autumn issue of BMW Bikes, which contains all the latest product reviews, news and features from the world of BMW.

MCN Live takes place from Friday 7 until Monday 10 October 2005 at the Butlins holiday resort in Skegness, Lincolnshire. Detailed event information can be found by visiting the www.motorcyclenews.com website. To book tickets and accommodation online, call 0870 242 0870.
