DAVID Howe is hoping to make it a Scottish double when he rides at Glasgow in the Ashfield Classic on Sunday.
The Wolverhampton rider has already won the Scottish Open in Edinburgh and will start Glasgow''s individual event as one of the favourites. He said: ''I always enjoy these meetings and I was pleased to be invited by Glasgow. It would be lovely to go there and win it.'' ANDRE Compton won a last heat decider to help Sheffield through to the Young Shield semi-finals at the expense of Edinburgh. The Monarchs won 54-38 on the night but Sheffield edged through 95-91 on aggregate and they will now meet new league champions Rye House. Tigers boss Neil Machin said: ''It got very tense towards the end and we''re just delighted to be going through to meet the champions.''
