WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
25 September 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

WOLVERHAMPTON can take a massive step towards the Craven Shield semi-finals if they beat Oxford at Monmore on Monday.

They need to win by more than six-points to claim the aggregate bonus point which would make them clear leaders of the group. And it would mean Swindon would then have to get three-points from Oxford on Thursday for the group to be decided on points difference. Peter Karlsson once again steps in for his injured brother Mikael in the Wolverhampton side and there are some supporters already calling for his inclusion next season on a full-time basis. Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''Oxford are a tough team following the signing of Freddie Eriksson which puts Travis McGowan down at reserve. ''He won the match for them against us at their place and we''ll need to contain him on Monday.''

WOLVES: Peter Karlsson, Magnus Karlsson, Steve Johnston, Freddie Lindgren, David Howe, Ronnie Correy, Kzrysztof Pecyna.

OXFORD: Greg Hancock, Henka Gustafsson, Freddie Eriksson, Billy Hamill, Niels Kristian Iversen, Travis McGowan, Craig Branney.
