CARMICHAEL SETS ''NATIONS PACE
25 September 2005 - Suzuki Racing
Makita Suzuki rider and multiple AMA Supercross and Motocross Champion Ricky Carmichael won the MX1 qualification heat at a hot and sunny Ernee in France today for the 59th Motocross of Nations.
The leader of Team America beat Mickael Pichon (France) and Stefan Everts in convincing fashion and drove the bumper crowd - that has already packed out the facility near Rennes, involving numbers close to 20,000 - into frenzy. Team Suzuki rider and reigning Champion for Belgium Kevin Strijbos was third in the MX Open category while Motovision Suzuki Racing''s Yoshitaka Atsuta was seventh for Japan. The track was dry and dusty and the circuit is preparing itself for essential crowd maintenance tomorrow with the attendance figure expected to swell even further.
