STEEL YOURSELF FOR COLOUR
30 July 2004 - BSR Aerotek

Motorcycle engine bolts are particularly susceptible to corrosion, affecting the bike’sappearance and the owner’s ability to perform maintenance.

British performance
specialists BSR-Aerotek now offer a range of stainless steel engine bolt kits, for
durability, which can be supplied with coloured alloy cup washers, to add a touch of
colour and individuality. The cup washers are available in red, blue, purple, silver,
gold, black & turquoise.
Stainless steel comes in different grades & BSR have selected A2 grade, which is
well suited to use on motorcycles, as it contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
Stainless steel must contain at least 10 - 12% chromium, the element that prevents
“staining” (rusting) the surface. Higher levels of chromium improve the corrosion
resistance of the stainless material
Prices vary according to make & model – the Triumph T595 kit pictured retails for
£31.79 inc. VAT and contains 31 bolts & cup washers.
NB BSR-Aerotek also offer bolt kits in imperial sizes for classic bikes.
